On Thursday, the Chairman announced the Spartans second Designated Player for the 2013 season - veteran attacking midfielder Tim Cahill.
Cahill gives a "thumbs up" to the Chairman's decision |
Cahill, 33, joined the BSL last year after a successful career at Everton in the English Premier League, where he became a fan favorite and the clubs talisman, and 60 caps for the Australian national team. Cahill is best remembered for his two goal game against Japan in the opening match of the 2006 World Cup.
The Chairman said, "I'm just such a big fan of Tim. He's a leader in the dressing room and on the pitch and a good role model for the younger guys as to how they should go about their careers."
Cahill had 3 assists and a goal in 12 appearances for the Spartans last season.
I think he'll perform better with his new head coach.
